A Warm Welcome to Meadow Wood Pet Cemetery & Pet Cremation Services in Devon

On the outskirts of Churchstow village near Kingsbridge lies Meadow Wood, your local pet cemetery & pet cremation services in Devon. Family pets who have given a lifetime of loyalty and friendship are remembered with a lasting and loving memorial in our wooded and peaceful gardens.

Meadow Wood, established in 1990, offers a very personal, caring service to the bereaved pet owner and to a wide area of Veterinary practices.  We offer a high quality, local and affordable service, and we take huge pride in the services we provide. Only domestic pets are cremated by us in our Pet Crematorium, thereby giving you peace of mind that your faithful companion’s ashes stay local and they receive our utmost personal attention.

Our individual cremations come within the scope of the APPCC Code, under which we provide a respectful, dignified and caring service, and return the ashes to pet owners.  We also offer a respectful communal cremation service under the APPCC Code whereby pets are cremated side by side and the ashes are buried in our Pet Cemetery.  We also provide veterinary surgeries with a general disposal service that is outside the scope of the Code and does not include the return of ashes.  If you wish us to carry out an individual cremation or a respectful communal cremation, please ensure this is recorded accurately by the surgery at the time.

Meadow Wood is divided into two special areas:

Pets Garden of Remembrance

An established final resting place for many devoted pets, situated in a wooded, peaceful copse, with natural pathways guiding you through lovingly cared-for graves.

Natural Woodland Burial Ground (Cemetery)

The environmental woodland burial ground runs alongside the Pets Garden of Remembrance. Offering an equally peaceful site with open countryside views all around. This area has been created as a final resting place for pets and owners’ ashes, or just for human ashes.

You cant beat a warm lap to snooze on.

Whilst we normally look after pets at the end of their lives, yesterday, while out on our rounds, we had the lovely surprise of cuddles with a 9 day old cocker spaniel puppy, who's mum had rejected her and was being hand reared. She was a little wiggler and very strong considering her poor start. Well done to the ladies at Mercury Vets for doing their best for the little one. #puttingabalanceonlife. ... See MoreSee Less

“I have used Meadow Wood on two occasions and now coming into my third occasion for my beloved cat Holly. We would not hesitate to recommend them to any pet owners.

They are very kind, caring and compassionate about your pets and accept that they are very much part of the family.

I have always had my pets cremated individually and placed in an oak casket with an inscribed name plate, and it is so comforting to have your loyal pet back home in their familiar surroundings so that you can continue to grieve whilst healing at the same time.”
